<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is equipped with an opening part in a housing and in/from which attachable/detachable components are loaded/unloaded through the opening part, and which is constituted to make it easy to access the inside of the housing and stably support the paper by the upper surface part of the housing. <P>SOLUTION: A paper placing part 70 comprises a paper placing part main body 70a arranged on a rear side, and an upper surface side cover part 102 arranged on a front side, constituted to cover at least the front side of the upper surface of the opening part 34, having a front end set as a free end, and provided to be openable/closable in the main body part of the housing 2 so as to turn centering around an axial line 102a in a right-and-left direction set on a rear end side.
