<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a multilayer coating film which is excellent in design properties and has a metallic gloss. <P>SOLUTION: The method for forming the multilayer coating film comprises the steps of successively forming an undercoating film on a material to be coated, a glorious material-containing base coating film on the undercoating film and a clear coating film on the glorious material-containing base coating film. A glorious material-containing base coating material for forming the glorious material-containing base coating film contains colloidal particles containing a noble metal and/or a metal, and a coating film-formable resin. When the hue of the colloidal particles containing the noble metal and/or the metal when the color of the colloidal particles is developed by using a plasmon is defined as 0 on the Munsell's 100 hue circuit, the counterclockwise direction thereof is shown as 0 to +50 and the clockwise direction is shown as 0 to -50, the hue of the undercoating film is within +35 to +50 or -35 to -50. The undercoating film has≤9 brightness in a Munsell color system or an achromatic color of≤4 brightness in the Munsell color system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
