PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a classification device for properly classifying vectors into any of a plurality of classes. SOLUTION: In a classification device 101, a correlation matrix represented by expression (1) with respect to sample vectors x<SB>j</SB>,<SB>1</SB>, x<SB>j</SB>,<SB>2</SB>through x<SB>j</SB>,<SB>L[j]</SB>accepted about classes j=1, 2, through N by a sample accepting part 102 is calculated by a correlation calculation part 103, and a solution matrix B<SB>j</SB>=R<SB>j</SB>(R<SB>j</SB>+μI)<SP>-1</SP>is calculated by a prescribed regularization parameterμby a solution matrix calculation part 104, and similarity f<SB>j</SB>(x)=-¾x-B<SB>j</SB>x¾<SP>2</SP>with respect to the j-th class of the classification vector x accepted by an object acceptance part 105 is calculated by a similarity calculation part 106, and the maximum value f<SB>k</SB>(x) of similarity f<SB>1</SB>(x), f<SB>2</SB>(x) through f<SB>N</SB>(x) is calculated, and the classification object vector x is classified into a class k by a classification part 107.
