PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer control device and an electronic device, simplifying a circuit and control to materialize a bridge function of parallel ATA (AT Attachment) and serial ATA (Serial AT Attachment). SOLUTION: The data transfer control device includes: a PATA (Parallel AT Attachment) I/F 10 connected to a PATA bus; an SATA I/F 50 connected to an SATA bus; and a sequence controller 30 performing transfer sequence control. The SATA I/F 50 makes a start of (N+1)th (wherein N is a positive integer) unit transfer next to Nth unit transfer on the serial ATA side wait until the Nth unit transfer of PIO (Programmed I/O) read on the parallel ATA side is completed after starting the Nth unit transfer on the serial ATA side when performing PIO read transfer.
