PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fuel from being supplied when the fuel is not burnt by erroneously detecting the state of the flame of combustion equipment when a flame rod for detecting the state fails. SOLUTION: This combustion equipment includes a flame detection means detecting the flame of a combustion part, and an exhaust temperature detection means detecting an exhaust temperature of combustion gas generated by the combustion part. A determination operation is executed when the exhaust temperature of the combustion gas satisfies a temperature lowering condition (step 3) in detecting the flame by the flame rod (step 2) during a combustion operation (step 1). The determination operation forcibly stops the combustion operation (step 4), and confirms whether the flame is detected by the flame rod (step 5).
