The method involves removing oil deposits from pre-determined engine parts e.g. crank cases. A cleaning agent mixture is led over an external filter (4) with current combustion engine in a cycle by an oil chamber of an internal combustion engine in contact with engine parts, which are cleaned. The cleaning agent mixture containing 15 to 50 percentage volume of engine oil and 85 to 50 percentage volume of an organic solvent component, is led back into the oil chamber, where the organic component contains amines, esters, glycol, paraffinic hydrocarbons and naphthenic hydrocarbons.
