<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor which can be made compact by increasing a heat radiation efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The reactor comprises a core 1, a coil holding means 2 located around the core 1, a coil 3 wound on the outer peripheral surface of the coil holding means 2, a filling material 4 for sealing the core 1 so that the coil 3 and the coil holding means 2 are not exposed except for parts 13 at both ends of the core 1, a heat radiation plate 7 located so as to be brought into contact with the outer surface of the filling material 4. A gap 6 is provided between the inner surface of the coil holding means 2 and the outer peripheral surface of the core 1, and the filling material 4 is provided in the gap 6.
