PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing device capable of performing continuous focus control and exposure control even though the feature part of interest is subjected to frame-out and frame-in. SOLUTION: The photographing device is provided with a photographing means (focus lens 110 and CCD 113) for photographing an image, a control means (CPU 101) for controlling the photographing means, and a feature detecting part 118 for detecting a feature part from the photographed image. The photographing device is also provided with a direction detecting means (CPU 101) for detecting a deviated direction when the feature part deviates from the range of the image, and a motion detecting part 117 for detecting motion of the photographing means. The control means controls the photographing means in accordance with the state of the feature part, and discriminates whether to hold the control state of the photographing means from the detection result of the direction detecting means and the detection result of the motion detecting means when the feature part deviates from the range of the image.
