PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element in which emission efficiency and durability are enhanced by emitting light in a wider range of a light emitting layer. SOLUTION: The organic light emitting element 10 has an organic layer 16 including at least a light emitting layer sandwiched between an anode 14 and a cathode 18 wherein the light emitting layer contains a hole-transporting luminescent material, an electron-transporting host material, and an electrically inert material and the concentration of the hole-transporting luminescent material is increasing gradually from the cathode side toward the anode side.
