PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermocouple and its mounting structure capable of detecting a temperature stably and accurately, and having excellent mounting/dismounting work efficiency. SOLUTION: In this covered wire type thermocouple 3 having a tip joint of a thermocouple wire exposed from an insulation coating, for example, a chip-shaped holding member 6 comprising brass is brazed on the tip joint of the thermocouple wire, and the holding member 6 is fitted into a groove 5 formed in a die 1, and thereby the thermocouple 3 can be mounted on/dismounted from the die 1.
