PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite material and an ornament having excellent corrosion resistance and of pink color. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a composite material comprising: a first phase essentially consisting of Pt; and a second phase at least comprising Cu and Au and further comprising Pd and Ag. Also disclosed is an ornament comprising the composite material at least in a part thereof. Regarding the compositions of Au, Pd and Ag in the second phase, provided that their mass ratios are defined as X mass%, Y mass% and Z mass%, respectively, and (X+Y+Z=100) is satisfied, they lie in the range surrounded by 6 points in a three-dimensional diagram (X, Y, Z)=(90, 10, 0), (80, 20, 0), (78, 16, 6), (78, 6, 16), (80, 0, 20), and (90, 0, 10) (excepting the values on a straight line connecting the point (X, Y, Z)=(90, 10, 0) and the point (X, Y, Z)=(80, 20, 0) and the values on a straight line connecting the point (X, Y, Z)=(80, 0, 20) and the point (X, Y, Z)=(90, 0, 10)).
