<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared communication system, transmitting terminal, receiving terminal and infrared communication method, wherein infrared communication can be more surely set up and smoothly performed by providing a plurality of infrared transmitting sections and/or a plurality of infrared receiving sections with different infrared signal transmitting/receiving directions, in the transmitting terminal and/or in the receiving terminal. <P>SOLUTION: An infrared communication method includes: a transmitting section selection step of selecting and turning on, at a transmitting-side selection section 208, one infrared transmitting section 216 in a predetermined order from among a plurality of infrared transmitting sections 216 different in infrared signal transmitting directions of a transmitting terminal 200; and an infrared communication setup step of maintaining an ON state of the turned-on infrared transmitting section 216 when infrared communication with an infrared receiving section 316 of a receiving terminal 300 is set up, or turning off the selected infrared transmitting section 216 when the infrared communication is not set up, and repeating the transmitting section selection step by selecting the next infrared transmitting section 216. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
