<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier of a simple constitution capable of allowing a filter to absorb water or preventing the filter from absorbing the water in a state of placing the disc-shaped filter in a vertical position without moving the filter, and the filter. <P>SOLUTION: This filter 2 composed of a water absorptive filter body 21 and a non-water-absorptive holding body 3, is placed in a vertical position, and circumferentially rotated by a rotation drive mechanism 4 with a circumferential part of the filter immersed in water in a water tank 18.
