<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication terminal and method for controlling the same in which convenience for the users can be improved by performing communication even in a case where a battery is exhausted. <P>SOLUTION: A portable communication terminal includes a first wireless communication means 102 applicable to a first wireless communication system, and an interface 107 to which an external device 200 is removably connected, and the terminal starts up a communication operation system by using a battery as a power supply. The portable communication terminal is also provided with a determining means 112 and a control means 112. The determining means determines whether the external device 200 connected to the interface 107 is provided with a second wireless communication means 202 which is applicable to a second wireless communication system. When the determining means 112 determines that the external device is provided with the second wireless communication means 202, at the time of re-starting the communication operation system after being stopped due to battery voltage reduction, the control means controls to start up communication operation system by executing start-up sequence of the second wireless communication means 202 without executing start-up sequence of the first wireless communication means 102. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
