<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the smudge of a recording medium and its conveyance mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: An ink-jet printer 1 includes eight ink-jet heads 2 which are placed in two rows along the sub-scan direction and arranged so that two ink ejection faces belonging to different rows may not lap along the main scan direction, a paper conveyance mechanism 10 which conveys a paper in the sub-scan direction while making the paper counter with the ink ejection face, eight wipers 63, 64 corresponding to each ink-jet head 2, and a movement mechanism 70 for making eight wipers 63, 64 move in the opposite direction each other. The wipers 63, 64 contact the ink ejection face 4 and reach the outside end of the ink ejection face 4 for wiping from its inside end concerning the main scan direction. The outside end of the ink ejection face 4 is the position where at least either one of the outside area of a paper conveyance area and the outside area of the paper conveyance mechanism 10 overlap wipers 63, 64 along the vertical direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
