<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for correcting a measurement error caused by a delay that occurs in a device such as a PC. <P>SOLUTION: In a network delay measuring method, a transmission device 2 writes in a check packet a creation time at which the check packet used for detecting a communication status of a network is created. A transmission time at which the check packet is transmitted is acquired. A reception device 3 for the check packet is notified about information on a time from the creation of the check packet to its transmission.
