PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten restart initialization time for a microprocessor when an abnormality occurs without degrading safety of engine control. SOLUTION: A restart inspection means 216 which is simpler than a start inspection means 226 is provided to select an appropriate means with an initialization judgement means 202. The restart inspection items are restricted to abnormalities detected by periodical code inspection means 310, 320 under an operating state. With this, it is possible to shorten the restart time required for the microprocessor, and restrain engine instantaneous stop time due to noise malfunctioning, thus reducing uncomfortable feeling.
