PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin type speaker and electronic equipment using the same, the speaker being made thin and preventing a rolling phenomenon and reducing a gap defect. SOLUTION: The speaker includes a second plate type magnet 7 and a first plate type magnet 12 which are arranged horizontally or nearly horizontally across a magnetic gap, a voice coil 10 arranged movably in the magnetic gap, and a diaphragm 9 coupled to the voice coil 10. The first plate type magnet 12 has magnetic poles at its plate ends and the plate type magnet 7 has magnetic poles at both thickness-directional ends such that magnetic flux is nearly orthogonal to the voice coil 10 at the voice coil 10 in the magnetic gap, and magnetic fluid 14 is interposed only between a length-directional inside end of the first plate type magnet 12 and the voice coil 10.
