<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector improved in light resistance and reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The projector is equipped with: a light source (1112) which emits red light, green light, and blue light; a liquid crystal panel for red (100R) having a first liquid crystal layer and modulating red light; a liquid crystal panel for green (100G) having a second liquid crystal layer and modulating green light; a liquid crystal panel for blue (100B) having a third liquid crystal layer and modulating blue light; and a photosynthesis optical system (1119) to synthesize modulated light rays emitted from the respective liquid crystal panels for red, green, and blue. The liquid crystal panel for red and the liquid crystal panel for green have same structure, and the liquid crystal panel for blue has a structure different from the liquid crystal panel for red and the liquid crystal panel for green. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
