LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple manufacturing process capable of suppressing coloring of a transmission part due to an alignment layer for a retardation film in a transflective type liquid crystal display device with built-in the retardation film in a reflection display part.

SOLUTION: Reduction of transmittance of the transmission part is prevented by disposing the alignment layer for aligning the retardation film at only a part where the retardation film is disposed. Since there is no alignment layer in a ground of a phase difference material made transparent at the transmission part in a manufacturing process wherein development is unnecessary, phase difference remaining in the transmission part is eliminated and reduction of contrast of the transmission part is prevented.
