PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device, capable of determining whether a temperature sensor is normally operated or not. SOLUTION: The image forming device comprises a casing constituting an outer facing of the image display device, a projection part 10 set within the casing to project and display an image based on an image signal input form an image input terminal, a cooling fan 44 which cools the projection part, a temperature sensor 40 which detects temperature of the projection part or the inside of the casing, a fan control part 43 which controls rotation of the cooling fan, and a temperature sensor determination part which determines operation failure of the temperature sensor. The temperature sensor detects a temperature as a first temperature when the fan control part stops the cooling fan, and detects a temperature at first predetermined time intervals after stopping the cooling fan as a second temperature. The temperature sensor determination part calculates a temperature difference between the second temperature and the first temperature as a calculated temperature, and determines operation failure of the temperature sensor when the calculated temperature is lower than a predetermined temperature until a second predetermined time passes after the stoppage of the cooling fan.
