PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an operation rate and shorten a residence time for a weighing apparatus which quantitatively weighs an article by performing a combination calculation and a weight accumulation for each weight rank, by eliminating the useless time in the combination calculation, when the final target number of articles are set in a prescribed range. SOLUTION: The weighing apparatus which performs the combination calculation and the weight accumulation for the articles having a permissible range in the final target article number, in order to obtain a final target weight, includes: an arithmetic means which obtains an accumulation weight by accumulating article unit weights until the number of discharged articles reaches a prescribed number; and a selecting means which performs the combination calculation of obtaining a residual weight by subtracting the accumulation weight from the final target weight, with a residual article number obtained by subtracting the prescribed number from the final target article number, after the discharged article number reaches the prescribed number, and performs a combination selection for the residual articles. When an estimated residual average unit weight obtained based on the residual weight and the residual article number is out of a permissible unit weight range, the combination calculation with the residual article number is not performed.
