PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify pressing in joining layered plates while securing the sealing performance of each of layered flow channels in a heat exchanger comprising the flow channels in a layered state. SOLUTION: In the heat exchanger 100, a plate unit 110 of a plate layered assembly is surrounded by a side plate 130 and a side plate 140, and the flow channels 150 of multiple lines are formed by a plurality of intermediate plates 116 in a layered state between the uppermost plate 112 and the lowermost plate 115 of the plate unit 110. Both side plates comprise plate-side projecting portions 132, 142 projecting to the plate unit 110 side, and the plate-side projecting portions 132, 142 interfere with the uppermost plate 112 and the lowermost plate 115 of the plate unit 110 to function as stoppers in pressing the plates.
