Conventionally, a program cannot be found unless there are some search conditions even though user's intention for search is not clear. A program retrieval support device includes a program information accumulation part (102) for accumulating program information, a program retrieval conditions user input part (101) for accepting an input of the program retrieval conditions from the user, a program information retrieval part (103) for retrieving the program information from the accumulation part (102) under the accepted retrieval conditions, a program information display part (104) for displaying a list of the pieces of program information regarding a plurality of retrieved programs, a program information user selection part (105) for accepting an input of pointing one piece of the displayed program information, a program retrieval condition generation part (106) for determining whether or not the currently pointed program is a main program and generating new retrieval conditions for narrowing a retrieval range to programs having contents closer to the pointed program when the program is determined to be the main program, and a program retrieval condition display part (107) for displaying the generated retrieval conditions.
