<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector mechanism that is highly reliable for a process cartridge by effectively utilizing the limited minimum space of a compact image forming apparatus body, and to restore an operating mechanism for an information storage member attached to the process cartridge to a normal state even if the process cartridge falls when attached and packaged, for example. <P>SOLUTION: A guide member for regulating the inserted posture of a cartridge B is brought into contact with a lever member 55, thereby driving a movable connector unit that has a main body electric contact 50. The abutting lever member 55 and the movable connector unit are connected by a cam groove 55c and an engagement boss engaging with this cam groove 55c. A moving amount of the movable connector unit in the first half of the rotation of the abutting lever 55 is set smaller than that in the second half of the rotation thereof.
