<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize construction for developing sufficient riser effects to form no shrinkage cavity and to uniformly deliver molten metal into a cavity 10c while hardly causing sand omission for a good product yield. <P>SOLUTION: A mold 6b is installed so that its portions corresponding to both outer and inner bodies of a caliper are arranged in the horizontal direction. A shell-type core 7b is arranged in the mold 6b. A baseboard portion 26 is provided at the upper end of the core 7b in the vertical direction. Besides, a recessed portion 27 is provided in the baseboard portion 26 to form a riser portion 28. The riser portion 28 is provided on the baseboard portion 26 as part of the shell-type core 7b having small heat conductivity, therefore retarding the coagulation of molten metal in the riser portion 28 to produce improved riser effects. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
