<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reconcile high detection accuracy with rapid detection at a distance, in calculating the relative distance or the relative velocity to an object, in relation to a pulsed radar system. <P>SOLUTION: The pulsed radar system comprises a transmission means for transmitting pulsed radio waves, and a reception means for receiving the reflected wave of transmitted radio waves by the transmission means. The pulsed radar system calculates the relative distance or the relative velocity to the object, based on the relation between the radio wave transmission by the transmission means and the radio wave reception by the reception means. The pulsed radar system also comprises a pulse width varying means for varying the pulse width of the radio waves transmitted by the transmission means, in response to the position of a demand detection range requiring the calculation of the relative distance or the relative velocity to the object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
