PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide a metal body detection system at low costs through the use of GPS, focusing on that a metal body, such as, a rolling stock and an automobile shields GPS radio waves. SOLUTION: The metal body detection system is provided with a GPS antenna 11 for receiving GPS radio waves 17; a GPS receiver 12 for outputting positioning results by processing GPS signals acquired via the antenna 11; and a determination device 14 for determining the success on the failure of reception of radio waves, on the basis of output S of the receiver 12, determining the absence of the metal body 15, when the reception of radio waves is successful, and determining the presence of the metal body 15, when the reception of radio waves is not successful.
