PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine injecting oil to the central section on the backside of a piston when the piston is cooled by an oil jet, and improving the efficiency of cooling of the piston. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine 10A consists of the piston 13 reciprocated in a cylinder block 11, connecting rods 14 connected with this piston 13, a crankshaft 17 connected with the connecting rods 14 of all the cylinders in a crank chamber 16, and an oil jet device 18 feeding the oil O to the inner wall of the piston 13. Partition walls 41-1, 41-2 are arranged in the backside of the piston 13 symmetrically, and the connecting rods 14-1, 14-2 are arranged in the backside of the piston 13 symmetrically. The oil O jetted from the oil jet device 18 is jetted to the central section 43 in the backside 22 of the piston 13, thereby improving the efficiency of the cooling of the piston 13.
