<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-way clutch constructed easily to assemble and manufacture while well maintaining locking performance. <P>SOLUTION: The one-way clutch comprises clutch operating rollers 10 arranged in a peripheral wedged space formed between an outer ring 1 and an inner ring 2, and elastic members 15 for energizing the clutch operating rollers 10 in the direction of narrowing the wedged space. Loading rollers 11 are arranged between the peripherally adjacent clutch operating rollers 10, 10 so that they abut on a cylindrical face 12 around an axial center c of the outer ring 1 to transmit the energizing force of the elastic members 15 from the clutch operating rollers 10 via the loading rollers 11 to the other peripherally adjacent clutch operating rollers 10. The energizing force on the plurality of adjacent clutch operating rollers 10 is transmitted, not via a cage, thus eliminating the need for such highly precise machining of the cage, as required to transmit the energizing force.
