PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chuck for chucking a component so as to place a radial position of a free end part of the component in a fixed position; to provide a method for manufacturing components of a fuel injection valve by using the chuck. SOLUTION: The chuck 30 grips the columnar or cylindrical component 90 with two claws 10, 20. One claw 10 has a first contact holding part 11a, and the other claw 20 has two couples of second/third/fourth/fifth contact holding parts 21a, 21b, 22a, 22b. The second contact holding part 21a and the third contact holding part 21b occupy first positions identical in a component axial line direction 90c. The fourth contact holding part 22a and the fifth contact holding part 22b occupy second positions identical in the component axial line direction 90c.
