A dual zone type air conditioner for a vehicle is provided to distribute wind volume uniformly to the right and left sides of an evaporator by mounting a barrier wall in the center of a valid heat transmitting surface of an evaporator in the width direction. An evaporator(2) is mounted in a casing(20) of an air conditioner, wherein a valid heat transmitting surface(A) of the evaporator is eccentric by an inlet/outlet pipe(2a). A barrier wall(100) is positioned in the middle of the width(W2) of the valid heat transmitting surface. The casing has left and right cases(20a,20b) with reference to the barrier wall so that internal widths(WCL,WCR) of the left and right cases are different from each other.
