<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording apparatus capable of suitably performing video recording in a video recording mode, corresponding to the amount of information of a content (constituting state of video and the audio signal of a broadcast program). <P>SOLUTION: A DVD recorder 100 (video recording apparatus) includes a receiving unit 41 which receives the broadcast signal, including at least the audio signal between the video signal and audio signal; a disk recording and readout unit 55 which can record the broadcast signal that the receiving unit 41 receives in a normal mode (normal image quality video recording mode), wherein recording is performed at a predetermined compression rate and a high-compression-rate mode (low image-quality video recording mode), wherein recording is performed with a compression rate higher than the compression rate of the normal mode; and a control unit 51 which performs control to record the broadcast signal in the high-compression-rate mode, when the broadcast signal includes only the audio signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
