PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting control system with life of a lighting means extended and waste of energy consumption alleviated, by changing dimming retention time and extinction retention time in accordance with representative values of dwell time and detection frequencies of human bodies. SOLUTION: The lighting control system is provided with human detection sensors 1a, 1b detecting presence of a human body inside given detection areas 4a, 4b, lighting devices 2a, 2b, 2c capable of controlling light for illuminating at least a part the detection areas 4a, 4b, and a lighting control device 3 carrying out light control of the lighting devices 2a, 2b, 2c. The lighting control device 3 is equipped with a dwell time obtention means for obtaining dwell time in which a human body detected by the human detection sensors 1a, 1b stays within the detection areas 4a, 4b. A dimming retention time is set in accordance with the representative value of the dwell time obtained by the dwell time obtention means, and light control levels of the lighting devices 2a, 2b, 2c are gradually lowered during the time from a time point when the human detection sensors 1a, 1b cease to detect a human body till the dimming retention time elapses.
