PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide paint compositions forming a paint film excellent in acid resistance, contamination resistance, water resistance, weather resistance, and in particular, car-washer scratching resistance, and to provide reactive diluents used for obtaining the paint compositions. SOLUTION: The reactive diluents comprise a hydroxy group-containing resin which is obtained by reacting (a) a compound including two or more hydroxy groups in one molecule, (b) a compound including two non-yellowing isocyanate groups in one molecule and (c) a lactone compound. In the reactive diluents, the hydroxy group-containing resin has a hydroxyl value of 100 to 200 mgKOH/g and a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 2,000, and contains 20 to 40 mass% of structural units based on the lactone compound of the (c) component. The thermosetting paint compositions contain these reactive diluents and hydroxy group-containing acrylic resins. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
