摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid continual occurrence of defective products in the production line of stepped copper strips with deformed cross-section by promptly detecting and grasping point by point in real time the occurrence of thickness defects caused by ruffling phenomenon, blushing or the like generated when rolling. SOLUTION: A device for producing stepped copper strips with deformed cross-section includes a rolling mill and a laser displacement gauge 20 which is a thickness-measuring apparatus and is disposed in line with the rolling mill. After forming the stepped copper strip 12, the thickness of at least one among the thin and thick plate parts 9 and 10 of the strip 12 is continuously measured in line. At that time, adherence of oil mists such as those of a metal processing oil to the light-emitting or incident plane of laser light in the laser displacement gauge 20 is avoided by emitting a jet of air 25 from the tips of air nozzles 24 and 28.
