PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic female fastening in a snap fastener which is inexpensive, suited to mass production and has high performance as the fastening and durability. SOLUTION: This snap fastener which has a female/male fitting structure and consists of a shaft-like male part having a head part at its tip and a ringed female part having an empty space for disposing the male part, is provided with a molded plastic female part 14 having several resilient pieces 18 equally disposed in the empty space surrounding the male part 12 in the fitting, wherein the resilient piece 18 has an arcuate flat shape projecting inward for resiliently retaining the shaft-like male part, a recessed part 19 is formed in a substantially central part of the part where the resilient pieces 18 project inward for facilitating the reception of the male part 12, and notches 20 are formed in the resilient piece for reducing the cross-sectional area and adjusting the resilient deformation force.
