PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm an enlarged image easily when enlarging portion of a live view image. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus has a live view display mode for continuously displaying an image successively outputted from an image pickup device on a display means at a prescribed frame rate. The live view image 54 in a live view display mode is displayed at an image display region 52 provided on the display means. When the live view image 54 is partially enlarged for display, the ratio of the image display region 52 to an entire display region 51 of the display means is increased, for example, by hiding an information display region 53 for displaying photographing information 56-59.
