PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more surely decide failures of a sensor system constituted of a plurality of rotary angle sensors in a steering assisting device including a steering force assisting device and a transmission ratio varying device. SOLUTION: First pinion angle and second pinion angle are determined by separately using a detection value of an output shaft rotary angle sensor 34 and a detection value of a first actuator rotary angle sensor 62, in the steering force assisting device 100. A third pinion angle is calculated from detection values of two sensors 70 and 72 provided in the transmission ratio varying device 200.
