PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, an image display device, and its timing controller capable of handling image signals other than those of preset resolution types, without requiring special resolution determining circuit. SOLUTION: The timing controller of the image display device generates a first horizontal reference signal (HRST_start), indicating the beginning of the active period of a Data Enable signal and a second horizontal reference signal (HRST_end), indicating the end of the active period from an input image signal. Then, the timing controller generates respective control signals (HSP, STB, POL, VCK, VOE, and the like), according to the number of clocks counted from the rise of the first and second horizontal reference signal (HRST_start or HRST_end) and a signal generating timing value (α, A-D) which are predetermined for each control signal supplied to a driver.
