PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of obtaining gamma control and backlight luminance based on information of an input video signal in a flushingless driving method. SOLUTION: When driving an OCB type liquid crystal display device in the fluhingless method, in order to make timing of video display and gammer control same, a backlight luminance value and a gamma conversion value are calculated, and the video signal stored in a frame memory is corrected based on these values. The corrected video signal is written in each pixel in a video writing period, and the backlight is turned on based on the backlight luminance value in the following video holding period.
