PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punch for plastic working which is small in frictional resistance, can be ground again, has long service life and is inexpensive. SOLUTION: In the punch for plastic working, a coated part 5 is formed by coating the end face 3 and the outer peripheral part on the side of the end face of the cutting part 2 of the punch 1. In the coated part 5, the peak part 7 having the maximum dimension in a direction orthogonal to the axial direction of the cutting part is formed and also a relief part 6 which is extended in the outer peripheral direction of the cutting part is formed on the opposite side of the end face 3 of the peak part 7.
