PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cocatalyst for polycondensation reactions, which enhances the activity of a catalyst and is effective for shortening a reaction time, to provide a polycondensed resin prepared using the cocatalyst, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the cocatalyst for the polycondensation reactions, used together with a catalyst in the polycondensation reactions, comprising a pyrogallol compound having a benzene ring whose adjacent three hydrogen atoms are replaced by three hydroxyl groups, to a polycondensed resin formed by polycondensing raw material monomers in the presence of the cocatalyst and the catalyst, and to a method for producing the polycondensed resin which comprises polycondensing raw material monomers in the presence of the cocatalyst and the catalyst.
