A system and a method for on-line diagnostic of a generator-motor are provided to exactly verify eccentricity between a rotor and a stator and an isolation deterioration of a stator winding. A measurement unit(10) measures a state of a generator-motor. A diagnostic unit(20) gives instructions according to the measurement result. A main executive unit(30) receives the instructions from the diagnostic unit and then stores instruction execution information and data. A partial discharge sensor(11) measures a partial discharge of a generator-motor stator winding. A layer short sensor(12) measures a short of a rotor winding in the generator-motor. An air gap sensor(13) measures an air gap between the rotor and a stator.
