A control method of a digital image processing apparatus and an apparatus thereof are provided for a user to directly manipulate an image through a touch screen, thereby enabling the user to make effects on a desired part on the touch screen. A display panel displays an image. A touch screen is arranged on the display panel, and receives touch input from the outside to produce a touch signal. A touch signal input unit(526) receives the touch signal. A controller receives the touch signal through the touch signal input unit and makes effects by handling the image according to the touch signal. A touch screen area is corresponded to the image area. According to an image operation on the touch screen from the outside, the touch signal is generated.
