A system and a method for providing article information in a local area network are provided to supply article advertisement information that shops adjacent to a user first to the user. A user local area network receives and stores article information of all shops and identification information of a router from a router, analyzes the article information to detect the article advertisement information of all the shops and displays the article advertisement information of all the shops(401). The user local area network terminal receives identification information of shop local area network terminals from a router(403). The user local area network terminal searches article information in which identification information of the received shop local area network terminals are included among the article information of the stored shops(405). The user local area network terminal displays article advertisement information included in the searched article information first(407).
