Provided are a method and an apparatus are provided for manufacturing a metal matrix composite whisker preform by drying the preform in a state that the manufacturing device is at pressurized and heated conditions after creating a vacuum atmosphere in a manufacturing device of the metal matrix composite whisker preform into which a steel molding form containing a preform is injected. A method for manufacturing a metal matrix composite whisker preform comprises: a process step(S11) of injecting a metal matrix composite whisker and ion exchange water; a process step(S12) of mixing and stirring the metal matrix composite whisker and ion exchange water to produce a first slurry; a process step(S13) of adding an inorganic binder, an organic binder, a pH-adjusting agent, a coagulant, and a water-capturing agent to the first slurry and mixing and stirring the materials to produce a mixed slurry; a process step(S14) of injecting the mixed slurry into a molding form with a predetermined shape to form a preform; a process step(S15) of injecting a molding form containing the preform into a thermal pressurization mold device and creating a vacuum state in the thermal pressurization mold device; and a process step(S16) of heating the preform to a predetermined temperature and pressurizing the preform to a predetermined pressure to dry the preform.
