A system and a method for video file duplication checking and management based on video information by using video fingerprint technology are provided to decide whether a previously stored video file is overlapped with a newly stored video file, based on contents of videos included in the video files before the video files are recorded in a storage, thereby preventing duplicated recording of the files. A file input unit(10) inputs plural moving picture files(MF). A video feature extractor(20) analyzes video data included in each moving picture file, and extracts video fingerprints. If similarity among the video fingerprints exceeds a threshold value, a file duplication checking unit(30) decides a comparison target moving picture file from which the video fingerprints are extracted, as a duplicated file containing the same contents of video. |
