Method of manufacturing a compound tube

The method involves manufacturing the inner tube (5) with a given profile and in a high stiffness state, and manufacturing the outer tube (6) by an extrusion technique with a profile matched to the inner tube and in an easily deformable non-hardened state. The outer tube is hardened to reduce its dimensions and provide a frictional compression connection to the inner tube. An independent claim is included for a hybrid tube.
