In a friction clutch wherein a driven friction disc 42 splined on an output shaft 44 is clutched to an input engine flywheel 12 by a presser plate 18 which rotates with a cover 16 bolted to the flywheel, is biased to grip the disc 42 by springs 38, and is axially moved to release the disc 42 by a release bearing 66 acting through levers 48 and struts 62, a permanently connected power take-off is provided by a second driven member 70 splined on a coaxial, hollow, second output shaft 68 and resiliently connected to the presser plate by tangentially arranged spring steel flexible straps 84. The second driven member comprises a flanged hub having riveted thereto an annular disc (Figs. 4, 5, not shown) or, as shown, a hub 74 having radial arms 78, the straps 84 being riveted at one end to the marginal edge of the annular disc or the ends of the arms 78 respectively, and at the other end to inwardly extending lugs 88 of the presser plate 18. The presser plate is connected to the cover 16 by tangentially arranged resilient straps 24, and eyebolts 20 which latter also act as fulcra for the levers 48. |
